To balance the flow of energy or life force — known as chi or qi — that flow through pathways (meridians) in your body. By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, acupuncture practitioners believe that your energy flow will re-balance.
Five Element theory is used to help explain and treat the cause of particular diseases, and to associate signs or symptoms to particular organs and afflictions. In the context of “phases,” Five Element treatment helps to explain the processes that are occurring the body throughout various stages of disease and healing, using the generating and controlling cycles.
A combined medical framework of sports medicine and acupuncture in relieving pain and accelerating the healing process. Generating an effective and unique system for treating injuries and pain. Using trigger-point release and electro-stimulation, this technique is used for tendino-muscular and myofacial ailments.
Cupping promotes blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This may relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and accelerate cell repair. It may also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue.
Moxibustion is a form of surface heat therapy that entails the burning of mugwort leaves that enhances healing with acupuncture. Its purpose is to strengthen the blood, stimulate the flow of qi or energy, dissipate toxins, and maintain good health.
Gua sha involves scraping your skin with a massage tool to improve your circulation. This technique may offers a unique approach to better health, addressing issues like chronic pain. Gua sha is intended to address stagnant energy. Rubbing the skin’s surface is thought to help break up this energy, reduce inflammation, and promote healing.
If you have a fear of needles, TuiNa massage can be used. Tui Na is a form of bodywork based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Working along meridians (energy channels) throughout the body, the practitioner taps into these energy points, using stretches, pressure points, and joint rotations, to balance the body’s vital energy (qi).
